Professor Tamer Oraby presented an invited seminar, “Behavioral Game-Theory Models of Vaccine Decision-Making”, at the Oden Institute for Computational Engineering & Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin. His talk focused on how game-theory can be used to understand social and personal factors like social norms and cognitive biases that influence vaccine uptake. The models described established a new disease–behavior–cognition framework and highlighted the importance of social and educational strategies in vaccine uptake behaviors.
