Dr. Patricia Feria speaks at a panel discussion on Chagas Disease at Mexico's National Institute for Public Health

Dr. Patrica Feria from UTRGV spoke about ongoing research and outreach for Chagas Disease in the Lower Rio Grand Valley at the Instituto Nacional de Salud Pública in Mexico City. The panel discussion also featured talks from Mexican researchers on Chagas Disease and was supported in part by Mexico’s Council for International Educational Exchange (CIEE).

The panel discussion also featured talks from Mexican researchers on Chagas Disease and was supported in part by Mexico’s Council for International Educational Exchange (CIEE). The panel presented data about the impact of Chagas Disease in Mexico and the border region with Texas, including the distribution of disease and kissing bug species in these areas. Discussions also included exploring mechanisms in the future to share data and clinical expertise about Chagas and other vector-borne diseaes to enable better modeling and exchange of expertise in the future.
