The 3rd Annual Florence Nightengale Day held at UTRGV is an annual outreach event that promotes statistics and data science research and careers to students on the UTRGV campus as well as local high school students. Alvaro Zavala, based at UTRGV, presented an overview of the Community Engagement activities undertaken by FloDisMod in the Lower Rio Grande Valley region.

The 3rd Annual Florence Nightengale Day held at UTRGV is an annual outreach event that promotes statistics and data science research and careers to students on the UTRGV campus as well as local high school students. Members of the UTRGV-based FloDisMod team in attendance included Dr. Patricia Feria, Dr. Tamer Oraby, Mr Alvaro Zavala and Ms. Karla Mona. Alvaro Zavala presented an overview of the Community Engagement activities undertaken by FloDisMod in the Lower Rio Grande Valley region. Attendance was at full capacity and included 107 students and instructors from Palmview High school, a local school in the area.
