The University of Texas GIS Day 2023: Celebrating Open Geospatial Science

The University of Texas at Austin Libraries hosted GIS Day 2023: Celebrating Open Geospatial Science. The event brought together local participants conducting geospatial research and included a workshop, talks and a poster session where FloDisMod team members presented their work.

The University of Texas at Austin Libraries hosted GIS Day 2023: Celebrating Open Geospatial Science. The brought together local participants conducting geospatial research. FloDisMod team members Michael Shensky and Alex Marden were key organizers of this meeting. A variety of activities occurred throughout the day aimed at showcasing local geospatial research activities and providing opportunities for attendees to learn about services and resources that support open science on the UT campus. FlodDisMod team members Liting Huang and Ira Narang presented posters about their research on Chagas disease and flood mitigation by dunes in south Texas, respectively.
